Vote of Confidence Well Received
In a surprise turn of events, both the LibDem and Labour candidates backed Darren Hall for their 2nd preference votes at hustings on 4th April at the University of Bath.
During the hustings, both Stephen Williams and Lesley Mansell asked their voters to pick Darren Hall as their second preference vote. The comments picked up by a student at the hustings.

Since, Darren Hall has commented, “I am grateful for their support and their vote of confidence in me. I am yet to have had the opportunity to review the other candidate’s manifestos and their promises to tackle the air quality crisis gripping our cities and their pledges to support the environment.”
On his voters’ second preferences he added, “For me, it has to be whoever promises to do the most action on air quality, pollution and tackling the inequality in the area. We need a Metro Mayor who has the long-term leadership needed to make this happen.”
